Using the optimism/ pessimism thinking tool
I feel very optimistic about architecture in the future. It seems to be focusing on improving the sustainability of our buildings because of quickly approaching global warming. The future looks positive when you look at the different forms architecture we are seeing.
The direction of architecture looks like its heading in a optimistic direction because of the focus on sustainability. We are developing different ways of constructing buildings and we are developing new materials to build them with. Nader khalili was dedicated to supplying 3 world countries with affordable housing he developed ceramic houses that are extremely cheap to build and are very sustainable.
There are new building materials on the market and I am very optimistic about them as well. They are stronger lighter and better than the materials that they are similar too. There are also other amazing developments like light transmitting concrete.
Our lifestyles that influence the changes in architecture I feel fairly optimistic about because they are influencing architecture into more sustainable forms. The only thing I am pessimistic about is the future of comfort in our homes. In a lot of designs comfort has been discarded for energy efficiency and sustainability. This is good and bad will our lives in the future be more sustainable but at what cost??
But this is all predictions.
Anything is possible in the future the only thing you’re held back by is your imagination.
